Maternal Wellness Center Therapist Job Description
The Maternal Wellness Center Therapist will support the physical, emotional, and mental well-being of clients. In this role, you will work directly with clients across the reproductive health spectrum including family life with a focus on perinatal and maternal mental health. The Maternal Wellness Center therapist will diagnose and treat perinatal mood disorders and may work with clients struggling with infertility, miscarriage, stillbirth, medical termination, and infant loss. This position is responsible for mental health assessment, treatment planning, records management, and individual psychotherapy.
Therapist Duties and Responsibilities
Work to provide clients with an exceptional therapy experience by representing the Maternal Wellness center with excellent judgement and professional conduct—including punctuality, respectful communication, and cultural sensitivity.
Offer two days and two evenings of in-person psychotherapy at the Maternal Wellness Center.
Build and maintain a client caseload through strong skills, communication, and administrative competence.
Regularly succeed at therapeutic courses of treatment for clients while utilizing regular supervision
Establish a positive and trusting relationship with clients through regular appointments
Complete a timely diagnostic assessment on all clients referred
Implement various treatments and protocols to provide guidance and appropriately address client situations
Continually assess client situations and implement appropriate treatment and protocols to address varied situations.
When required, refer clients to outside sources or agencies that can better address their specific needs
Understand and explain therapist’s role, client rights and responsibilities, confidentiality, and mandatory reporting
Maintain client records that are accurate, comprehensive, and adhere to documentation policies and billing timelines
Utilize SimplePractice for client scheduling
Manage all client records and medical records requests
Meet weekly productivity standards as set by Clinical Director
Maintain or complete PMHC certification within two years of joining the Center
Perform other duties as assigned by the Clinical Director
Qualifications
Education: This position requires a graduate level work in Social Work/Counseling/Psychology and some training and/or experience in our core service areas. Strong candidates will have started or completed the perinatal mental health trainings and certification. Licensure in the state of Pennsylvania is required, and exceptional candidates will also have New Jersey licensure.
Work Environment: Mostly in a typical office setting with quiet to minimal noise level. At this time, client appointments are offered virtually, in-person and a mix of both, but a minimum of two days and two evenings of work in the office are required. Office space is available to conduct all appointments.
