Senior Clinical Counselor / Social Worker

Katie Holzworth, LCSW, PMH-C

Katie is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 14 years of experience supporting individuals and families through life’s most significant transitions. She earned her Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010. After spending five years in outpatient community mental health, Katie transitioned to private practice, specializing in perinatal and parenting support. She holds a Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PMH-C), allowing her to provide specialized care for individuals navigating the challenges and triumphs of pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenting.

Katie is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) and IFS (Internal Family Systems), two evidence-based therapeutic models focused on trauma and emotional healing. EMDR helps clients process and heal from trauma, including PTSD, by utilizing a structured method that promotes emotional reprocessing. IFS focuses on understanding and integrating different parts of the Self to achieve greater emotional harmony.

Katie takes a candid, practical approach to therapy, first helping clients address immediate challenges, and later guiding them through deeper work related to family of origin, childhood experiences, and identity shifts. She is especially skilled in helping individuals process complex emotional experiences, including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders (PMADs), grief and loss, and the NICU experience. Katie also offers a monthly support group for moms navigating the difficult and complicated experience of terminating a pregnancy for medical reasons (TFMR).

Katie offers EMDR and IFS intensives, extended therapy sessions that allow for deeper processing in a condensed amount of time. These sessions range from 3 hours to full-day or weekends, providing a more expedient way to address complex trauma and deeper emotional work. This format can be especially beneficial for clients preparing for birth or struggling with the demands of parenting.

With Katie, clients can expect a compassionate, supportive environment that fosters growth, healing, and self-discovery in every session. Katie’s goal is to help her clients move through challenging life periods with greater clarity, resilience, and sense of Self.
