Kellie Wicklund, MA, LPC, PMH-C: Licensed Psychotherapist, Owner + Clinical Director of Maternal Wellness Center
Kellie Wicklund is a licensed Psychotherapist with 20 years of experience, and is the Clinical Director of the Maternal Wellness Center. Kellie is certified by Postpartum Support International as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist — the first in the area! Her experience with both private and community clients has nurtured a passion in the area of reproductive health psychology — a specialty that acknowledges the complexity and trials of the developmental process of parenthood. Kellie has extensive and specialized experience with peripartum mood and anxiety disorders, and understands the unique pressures that modern parenthood brings. Kellie is adept at supporting people through their journey into parenthood, whether that be the hardship of infertility, the overwhelm of the peripartum period, or the grief following a loss, or medical termination. Kellie was a 2008/2009 Clinical Fellow with The Psychoanalytic Center of Philadelphia, with an area of advanced study in postpartum disorders, infant attachment, infant-parent psychotherapy, feminism, and maternal subjectivity. Kellie was an associate with the Center for Postpartum Depression in Philadelphia from 2011 - 2016. Kellie directed the on-site perinatal mood and anxiety services for Jefferson Health at Abington Memorial Hospital from 2012-2016. She has lectured about peripartum mood and anxiety disorders at Abington Hospital - Jefferson Health, and the City of Philadelphia’s Maternal Health Conference.  Kellie’s approach is warm and supportive, and is infused with psychodynamic, humanistic, and feminist theory and technique. Throughout her career she has sought supervision, training and therapy from psychoanalysts, and continues to be inspired and influenced by the modern analytic/psychodynamic perspective which values increasing consciousness and deepening understanding of childhood/early attachments - and the implications of those relationships in the present. Kellie has special interest and experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, the full spectrum of perinatal experiences, reproductive decision making, termination for medical reasons, postpartum OCD, family of origin work, and surrogacy.

 

Christina Moran, HBCI & Certified Childbirth Educator: Executive Director
Christina came to the Maternal Wellness Center after a 12 year career in higher education administration as a senior director of operations. In that role, she first realized her passion for easing families through major life transitions. After the birth and loss of her first child, she found a new focus on the transitions around all aspects of parenthood. Her experiences with birth, loss, and parenting have made her sensitive to the need for quality mental health care and the importance of building communities of support for all stages of motherhood. Christina received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in writing from St. Joseph’s University. In 2017, Christina certified as a Hypnobabies childbirth education instructor and hypno-doula out of a desire to empower birthing people to make informed choices about their pregnancies and births. In her role at the Center, she is excited to marry her executive skills with her personal commitment to improving the lives of women and families through access to quality mental health care and complementary care.

 

Christa Aikins, CD (DONA): Director of Facilities Management + Yoga Instructor
Christa Aikins has been working as a birth doula for over five years and is the Director of Operations for the Maternal Wellness Center. She serves on the advisory board of the Philly Doula Co-op and is a member of midwife led Birth Choices, in Thessaloniki, Greece. Christa brings her experience of living and working abroad for many years with diverse cultures and is passionate about working with international and immigrant families. She has supported single mothers, and families who have used hypnobirthing, mindfulness, and evidence based birthing practices and has attended various birth related workshops and training in Philadelphia, including on pregnancy and loss. Christa began practicing yoga in 2008 while pregnant with her second child and as a way to maintain health and to deal with issues around chronic back-pain. Initially her practice centered around decreasing pain but eventually grew into exploring breath and relaxation for her own birthing experiences but also in her work with clients as a doula. She is certified in the Vinyasa flow tradition and is adept a creating a safe holding space, where people can feel nurtured and empowered. Christa has also completed an 8 hr. training in the principles of Trauma-Sensitive yoga. Christa has the greenest thumb around, a natural ability for project management, and keeps our building and grounds in beautiful working order for our patrons and community.

 

Camille Barnes: Director of Diversity, Equity + Inclusion
Camille Barnes is passionate about racial equity and inclusion, particularly as it relates to reproductive justice, and access for all to high-quality birth options and holistic postpartum support.  She is a seasoned mother to four boys ranging in age from early elementary to middle school. Camille is a social justice advocate through her podcast “Two Not Too Black Moms” that she co-hosts with Maria Silver Pyanov. She’s a certified postpartum doula and breastfeeding counselor who has knowledge of infant care and soothing techniques, early infant development milestones, breastfeeding initiation. In that work, she became attuned to how the disparities in Black maternal health were so significant which made her passionate about increasing the women of color working in the field to help bring support to moms of color. Her former role as an emotional support counselor enhances her skills in leading our support group for moms of color—Melanin Mamas. Her experience fuels her work at the Center helping to support equity and access.


 

Heidi Lengel, MMT, MT-BC: Senior Clinical Psychotherapist. Board Certified Music Therapist, Psychotherapist (Pre-Licensed), Dually Certified Birth & Bereavement Doula CD (SBD), EMDR Level 1 Practitioner, Level II Certified Complex Trauma Specialist. (Ph.D. Student, Drexel University)

Heidi Lengel received a dual Master of Music Therapy & Professional Counseling degree from Temple University in 2012, and is also certified as a birth and bereavement doula. Heidi offers a warm, accepting space where people can explore difficult topics while remaining physically and emotionally safe. She uses a combination of psychotherapy tools, therapeutic music experiences (as desired), and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) to help people discover new avenues of wellness and health in a way that is unique and individualized to each person and/or family. Heidi recognizes that not every person or family's path is the same, and that challenges associated with fertility issues, miscarriages, emotional distress, "normal" pregnancies & births, or infant loss are complex and important. Heidi is passionate about supporting the development of healthy families in order to create peaceful, transformational, & intergenerational change in our world. Heidi is also enjoys working with dads. Heidi is a local provider for Postpartum Support International (PSI), and is currently working toward PSI’s newly established ‘Certification in Perinatal Mental Health’. She has presented research and clinical work at regional, national, and international conferences. Heidi was honored as the inaugural recipient of the Benedikte Scheiby "Pioneering Spirit Award". This merit-based award recognizes someone from The Mid-Atlantic Region of the American Music Therapy Association who has worked to expand music therapy by crossing traditional theoretical and practice-oriented boundaries to meet the diverse needs of the people we work with. As an author and educator, Heidi provides lectures, supervision, & clinical programming solutions to healthcare professionals throughout the United States & Canada. Heidi has special interest and experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, traumatic grief and loss, adoption, single-parenting, family planning throughout the reproductive journey, maternal identity formation, and reproductive trauma.

 

Shaily Nandra, MA, LPC: Licensed Professional Counselor
Shaily is a Licensed Professional Counselor and has a Certificate in Perinatal Mood Disorders Components of Care through Postpartum Support, and is currently working toward PSI’s newly established ‘Certification in Perinatal Mental Health’. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling Education from Wayne State University in Michigan. Shaily has been working with families and parents in transition for the past several years. This includes her position at Thomas Jefferson University’s Family Center, where she delivered individual and group therapy to pregnant women and mothers struggling with both peripartum mood/anxiety disorders and substance abuse/use disorders. Shaily draws from an integrative approach to therapy, which heavily favors person-centered and humanistic philosophy, while also incorporating directly supportive techniques. Shaily is skilled at helping people identify and manage the stress in their life, and support new adaptive and healthy skills. Her specialized training helps new or expecting parents navigate the challenges and adjustments of growing a family. Shaily's clients can expect a thoughtful and discerning listener, who will draw upon years of experience to establish a quick rapport and personalized therapy plan. Shaily has special interest and experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, adjusting to motherhood with multiple children, attachment and bonding, life with an atypical baby/child, traumatic birth experiences, the NICU experience, burnout, and pregnancy after loss.

 

Lauren Purvis, MA, LPC, ATR-BC: Licensed Professional Counselor, Board Certified Art Therapist
Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Board Certified Art Therapist (ATR-BC). She received her MA in Art Therapy with Counseling Specialization from Seton Hill University in 2008. Lauren has received advanced clinical training through Postpartum Support International, and is working toward their newly established Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C)She is passionate about supporting parents experiencing a wide range of challenges throughout their reproductive and postpartum journey, and couples and families who are navigating the demands of parenthood or grief. Lauren’s approach is person-centered and holistic; she appreciates a multi-modal treatment approach that is tailored to an individual’s unique needs. Art-making is utilized based on client interest, and clients require no prior art experience. Lauren integrates psychodynamic theories, cognitive behavioral techniques, and mindfulness into her practice with the goal of resolving emotional conflicts, challenging unwanted thoughts, and gaining self-awareness, self-compassion, and resiliency. Lauren is adept at creating  a safe and non-judgmental space in which individuals can explore and connect with their true self, so they can experience life with more authenticity, balance, and joy. Lauren’s special areas of interest include anxiety and depression, grief and loss, codependency, elder care, identity formation and transitioning to parenthood, co-parenting, single-parenting by choice, and reproductive/birth trauma.

 

Lindsay Edwards, LPC, BC-DMT: Licensed Professional Counselor + Board-certified Dance/movement Therapist
Lindsay is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and Board-certified Dance/movement Therapist (BC-DMT) with her MA in Dance/movement Therapy & Counseling (2012) from Drexel University. Lindsay has trained through Postpartum Support International and is working toward a Certification in Perinatal Mental Health (PMH-C). As a dedicated anti-oppression therapist, Lindsay values working with marginalized families who are navigating perinatal and parenting stressors while also being impacted by the on-going trauma of racism or LGBTQIA discrimination. Lindsay practices from a holistic systems-perspective, helping clients optimally interact internally and externally to create healing and sustainable wellness. Lindsay helps clients safely attune to their bodies, even after intense body-based trauma or involvement in perpetual high-conflict culture. Even through a talk-therapy approach, Lindsay’s somatic training creates opportunity for clients to increase nervous system regulation, attune to non-verbal communication and use natural movement to shift thoughts and behavior. Lindsay is adept at working with postpartum mood and anxiety disorders, LGBTQIA perinatal experiences, mind/body healing, childhood trauma resurfacing during parenthood, parents struggling to attune to children, sexual abuse survivors navigating pregnancy and birth; partners ineffectively connecting, stigmatized women uninterested in having children or struggling to conceive, those coping with body-image stigma or dissatisfaction, adoption adjustment, postpartum OCD/anxiety/panic, and families after tragic losses/deaths. Lindsay also enjoys working with partners and Dads through their transition to parenthood, parenting stress, postpartum anxiety/depression, and more.

 

JaNae West, MFT: Individual + Family Therapist
For the past 4 years, JaNae has worked in a variety of therapeutic positions including doing intensive in-home family therapy, working as a crisis counselor in the ER, working with the ACT clinician in the community-based program and working as a primary therapist inpatient at Foundations Behavioral Health. JaNae has deep passion for helping individuals and families of young children (0 - 10 years old) explore and overcome inter-generational patterns that prevent a person moving towards a place of healing so that they can live their most authentic life. JaNae has personal and professional experience in understanding the enormous changes that take place with transitioning into motherhood. JaNae strives to utilize her training in family systems to help new parents navigate through the complexities of moving into their new roles by providing a safe, caring space to explore challenges and growth opportunities.  JaNae is also specialized in peripartum disorders, and is working towards her Perinatal Mental Health Certification (PHM-C) through Postpartum Support International.  JaNae strives to bring a calm presence where individuals feel heard, cared for, and supported. JaNae has special experience and interest in working with a variety of diagnoses including perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, family/relational dynamics, identify formation through in motherhood, childhood trauma/family of origin, postpartum OCD, intellectual disabilities, and trauma.

 

Katie Holzworth, LCSW, PMH-C: Senior Clinical Counselor / Social Worker
Katie is a licensed clinical social worker with 10 years of experience working with people in an outpatient mental health setting. She graduated with a Master’s degree in Social Work from the University of Pittsburgh in 2010 and has worked in both community-based and private practice offices since graduation. Katie is credentialed as a Perinatal Mental Health Specialist through Postpartum Support International’s (PMH-C). Katie has been specializing in perinatal mental health and transition to parenthood for approximately five years. In addition to this, she has extensive experience treating trauma survivors and is a Level 1 practitioner of Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is an evidence-based treatment utilized to reduce symptoms surrounding traumatic and anxiety-provoking experiences). Katie particularly enjoys exploring and processing identity shifts and changes that occur throughout parenthood and clients can expect a candid approach from her, with warmth, support, and growth in each session. Katie has special experience with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, supporting the NICU experience, the transition to motherhood, termination for medical reasons, traumatic grief and loss.

 

Kenya Easterling, MFT: Individual, Marriage + Family Therapist
Kenya is a Marriage and Family Therapist with over 12 years of experience in outpatient, intensive outpatient and residential settings. Since completing a Clinical-Counseling Psychology Masters’ Degree at LaSalle University in 2008, Kenya has worked with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families. Kenya also has experience with addictions counseling and trauma-informed care, Family Systems Theories, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Brief Solution-Focused Therapy. She has completed a certificate in Perinatal Mood Disorders: Components of Care through Postpartum Support International and is currently working towards PSI’s Certification in Perinatal Mental Health. Kenya has a passion for this work which stems from her own experiences with pregnancy and transition into motherhood. She believes that the essence of the therapeutic relationship is trust and collaboration. She partners with clients to develop and achieve goals by first creating a safe healing space and building rapport. Kenya helps clients manage difficult emotions while developing coping skills and building upon existing strengths. Kenya hopes to use her warmth and compassion to support women and families through every phase of their journey to parenthood. Kenya has special experience with family/couples therapy, counseling for children/adolescents, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, infertility, reproductive trauma, terminations for medical reasons, eating disorders in pregnancy, adoption, single-parenting, and grief and loss. Kenya is also able to provide support for partners and Dads on their parenting journeys.

 

Michelle Hudasko, MA, IBCLC: Psychotherapist
Michelle has been supporting parents and caring for infants for over 15 years. She completed her Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Immaculata University with a focus on maternal and infant psychology and mental health. She is also currently working towards her perinatal mental health certification (PMH-C) through Postpartum Support International (PSI). Her combined experience as a postpartum doula and International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) bring a broad range of skills to her work as a therapist. Michelle has gained valuable insight from her hands-on work assisting families through a variety of parenting styles and feeding choices. She specializes in guiding parents through weaning and feeding difficulties, caring for babies with colic or special needs, and exploring the personal transformations that take place during each stage of parenthood. She also enjoys supporting people while they navigate their reproductive journeys, feel through the intense anxiety and depression that can accompany parenthood, and as they learn to balance a life with post traumatic stress. Michelle takes an eclectic approach to therapy by utilizing  psychodynamic, person-centered, and existential theories; while incorporating practical coping skills and management techniques to help individuals work through the challenges that they encounter on their perinatal journeys.  Michelle has a special interest and experience in supporting people with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, body positivity and self-image, infant feeding challenges, transitions to parenthood, relationship changes, and supporting the choice or chance of being child free and its impact on identity development. Areas of growing interest include: impacts of evolving reproductive healthcare rights and sexuality for pleasure and self empowerment.

 

Jessica Sieracki, LMT: Licensed Massage Therapist
Jessica is a dedicated licensed massage therapist and has been practicing since 2005. Her massages are therapeutic and aim to focus on problem areas while instilling a relaxation of the entire body and mind. Jessica truly believes that in order to take care of others you must first take care of yourself. Women and mothers especially benefit from the therapeutic benefits of massage. Jessica graduated from The National Academy of Massage Therapy and Healing Sciences. She has always had a passion to work with pregnant women as well as those trying to conceive. She loves sharing the journey through conception and pregnancy into motherhood with each of her clients. Jessica is certified in Prenatal, Postnatal and Fertility Massage as well as other modalities such as Oncology Massage, Orthopedic Massage and Reiki. She also specializes in Deep Tissue Massage.

 

Lauren Moyer, LMT: Licensed Massage Therapist
Lauren (she/her) firmly believes that all bodies are good and deserving of the care and therapeutic benefits of massage. Massage increases our sense of wellbeing and connectedness with our bodies and minds. Lauren listens to each client to address areas of tension and discomfort with a massage tailored to those unique concerns. She always seeks to create an affirming and inclusive space in which to receive therapeutic care.
